Archbishop Emeritus of Bamenda
On Thursday, 30th November 2006, the Holy See announced that His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI had accepted the resignation of Bishop Pius Suh Awa as Bishop of Buea, and that the same Pontiff had appointed Bishop Immanuel Banlanjo Bushu, hitherto Bishop of Yagoua as the new Bishop of Buea. Bishop Awa handed over the Crozier to his successor in a colourful public celebration of the Eucharist at Soppo on Tuesday, 30th January 2007. Ordained as Co-Adjutor Bishop of Buea on Pentecost Sunday, 30th May 1971, Bishop Awa automatically became Bishop at Buea on 29th January 1973, the day on which Pope Paul VI accepted the resignation of Bishop Jules Peeters, MHM.

The Bishops of Cameroon have just held their 32nd Plenary Assembly at the John XXIII Centre Mvolyé, Yaounde. During the come together they examined the financial situation of the different parishes and dioceses. While the main focus was on the economic management of church property and resources and attached services of the National Episcopal Conference, media depravity and the upcoming twin elections did not escape their attention.

The Bishop of Buea, His Lordship Immanuel Bushu has warned Christians and other persons against lending money to, or borrowing from priests, religious and church personnel serving in his Diocese. The warning is contained in a letter addressed to all Christians, priests and religious in the diocese of Buea, signed 14th April 2007.

Four deacons from the Archdiocese of Bamenda were ordained during the Easter Octave. Of these four, two are diocesan and incardinated into the Archdiocese of Bamenda. Fr Dereck Che Cho comes from Pope St Pius X Parish Akum while Fr Raphael Aletum is from St Joseph's Parish Bafut.

As the Diocese of Kumbo clocked 25 years on March 18 this year, so too is the Cameroon custody of Capuchin Franciscans, whose 25 years in active service have been a mature period for its members to come together once and remind themselves of their mission in Cameroon, take stock of what has been done so far and to celebrate. It also gives them the opportunity to thank the various individuals on their contributions to the success of the Capuchins in Cameroon.

Seven months after his Episcopal Ordination, Bishop George Nkuo of Kumbo, has ordained his first priests and has expressed profound spiritual joy for this first privilege in his pastoral ministry. He ordained seven priests on April 12 to continue the fruitful work of the Church that is in Kumbo Diocese.

In a very colourful twin ceremony, that took place at the St. Rita's college campus on Saturday 14th April 2007, the college received the most dignified award of excellence as Moh Arthur received an academic medal as the top candidate for the 2006 examination session in Electrical Technology, from the London based City and Guilds International examination Board.The British High Commissioner to Cameroon H.E Syd Maddicot also used the opportuity to praise the Catholic system of education in Cameroon
