The merry making generated by the election of Barack Obama as the first US President of Afro-American descent has already started dissipating, but the lessons drawn from the historic event remain almost inelastic. Obama's election to the White House has not only rekindled the hope of minorities in America and across the globe, but has demonstrated, beyond reasonable doubt, that personal determination and self drive can shatter long held prejudices and bring to the spotlight even those once considered unfit for public office. The peace of the Lord be with you all.
It is with great joy that I write to you on the occasion of the great expectation of the arrival of the relic of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus in our land and in particular in the Diocese of Buea. It is a marvellous gift from God and we are proud to receive it in our midst. It is the long awaited moment. Our expectations are great as we think of this event for ourselves individually, our families, schools and colleges and other institutions, our Parishes, Diocese, Country and world.

On his way from the St. Peter Catholic Mission where he said Holy Mass and administered confirmation to 15 Christians, His Lordship stopped at the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Buea, Chief Endeley.
