Brothers and Sisters:

 

Here we are again at the beginning of a New Year. This is an opportunity for us to thank the Lord for enabling us to see this first day of the New Year. Please forgive me for not starting, as I always do, by wishing you a Happy New Year. Be a bit patient so I can first of all present my New Year wishes to my Mother! I’m not talking of my mother, Mama Catherine, whom you all know is over a hundred years old already, but it’s about my Mother in Heaven, whose feast day the Church celebrates this first day of January, by giving her the most beautiful title of glory: Mother of God.
