We were the first Christians in this parish. With the hatred many had for Christianity, people came and forced me to leave my matrimonial home. Some broke my bath room and vowed not to talk to me again. They tore sheets off from my roof, carried away stones from my home and used them to build their own houses. The pioneer Parish Priest and I stood our ground and continued in our faith. The situation has evolved positively and today we have many Christians in Ako Parish. I am happy because I have kept the faith despite all obstacles.

Buea University Students’ Union, UBSU, has been suspended from carrying out its activities until further notice. The decision is contained in a December 2, 2009, release which the vice chancellor, Prof. Vincent Titanji, issued. The decision follows a clash on campus between factions which UBSU president, Paul Shipuh, and the former UBSU chairman, Tanyi Mbo, are heading.
