February 11 is celebrated in the Roman Catholic liturgical calendar as the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, which recalls the 1858 apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the vicinity of Lourdes, France. In Cameroon in the Central Region of Africa called Cameroon, it is celebrated as a National Youth Day, even if it offers little to the youth under a political and economic climate of impunity and corruption.
