pastoral responsibilities as Archbisop of Yaoundé and confirms the appointment
of the Bishop of Ebolowa, Mgr. Jean Mbarga, as the apostolic administrator of

Bakot, has renounced his office as the Archbishop of Yaoundé Metropolitan See.
A communiqué from the Apostolic Nuncio, which was read over State-owned CRTV
this July 29, states that Pope Francis has accepted Mgr. Victor Tonyé Bakot’s renunciation.
The communiqué further indicates that the Bishop of Ebolowa, Mgr. Jean Mbarga,
has been appointed as the Apostolic Administration of Yaoundé Archdiocese. We
shall be coming back to this developing story in greater detail.

On 11th January 2005, during the Eucharistic Celebration in St. Joseph’s Metropolitan Cathedral, Mankon, when I was presented as the Co-Adjutor Archbishop of Bamenda, I told the faithful that the then Archbishop and myself were going to make up one full bishop from the point of view of pastoral endeavor. This was because both of us were not in very good health. About five years earlier I had had a triple heart by-pass and consequently was no longer strong enough to stand the stress of hard work.
The Emeritus Bishop of Nkongsamba, Mgr. Thomas Nkuissi, is dead. He died on Wednesday, March 16 at the Nkongsamba Central Hospital after a protracted illness. Family sources indicate his corpse will be removed from the Nkongsamba Mortuary on March 24 and he will be buried on March 25 in Nkongsamba.
Political activist, Mboua Massock stormed into the Douala Archbishop’s residence at about 4.30pm Wednesday, Feb. 23, while escaping from a battalion of baton brandishing policemen who were after him. Seconds after Mboua Massock and his son took refuge in the building; four speeding truck loads of policemen stationed at the Cathedral esplanade and forced their way into the Archbishop’s House to arrest him.

2010 at Ntasen, Bamenda. Fr. Paul died in his study while working at the Catholic Health Centre in Ntasen where he took up residence since he retired in 2005.

Eliseo Antonio Ariotti, has made public the list of participants from Cameroon to take part in the Second Special Assembly of the Synod of Bishops for Africa.
