Muyuka, September,. Police and gendarmes in Muyuka, Southwest province of Camerooon have embarked on a serious manhunt for members of the Cameroon separatist movement, the Southern Cameron National Council (SCNC). The hunt comes on the heels of the February, 2008 social upheavals in
Cameroon and ahead of the October 1, when SCNC celebrate their independence day. A police officer who spoke to L’Effort camerounais on condition of anonymity said, officials of the movement in Muyuka among whom is a certain Amin Morfaw Patrick, a teacher by profession and the Organizing Secretary for Muyuka are wanted by security forces for interrogation.

Less than two months from the complete pull-out
of Nigeria from the disputed Bakassi Peninsular, unidentified gunmen have again dealt a crippling blow to the tottering peace process between Cameroon and Nigeira. Some Cameroonians, including the Divisional Officer of Kombo Abedimo-Bakassi, Felix Fonya Morfaw, were on June 8, abducted and killed by yet to be identified militiamen.

chair the highly publicised All South West Development Conference. However, the real motive of the meeting remains shrouded in controversy. The Conference, might have been captioned a 'development and reconciliation' forum, but many think the PM's trip to the South West was to garner the province's support for President Biya and to maintain the PM’s name in President Biya’s “good book”.
